Chasing The Moon

I am working on a series of contemporary brightly colored watercolors. “Chasing The Moon” is the first. I have always painted in a more controlled style and have been trying to loosen up a little. So I will lay down the color with no particular idea in mind and let the color and shapes dictate the finished image. I have to admit it’s fun.

Rocky Mountain Ice Fields

On a quiet sunny day, with the wind gently blowing the peaks of the Rocky Mountains have a peaceful tranquility about them. The sun warms the air melting into what will fill the rivers and lakes below on the foothills. The grass will grow and flowers bloom, wildlife will graze on the grass, berries and lichens that are beginning to appear.

With the spring comes new life. Babies are born, fish are spawned spending the next few months preparing for the winter that will return all too soon.

Everything in life is fleeting, take time to enjoy your surroundings for they can change before you have had a chance to sketch them and store them in your memory for ever.
