Chasing The Moon

I am working on a series of contemporary brightly colored watercolors. “Chasing The Moon” is the first. I have always painted in a more controlled style and have been trying to loosen up a little. So I will lay down the color with no particular idea in mind and let the color and shapes dictate the finished image. I have to admit it’s fun.

 Red Painted Horse

Who doesn’t like a bit of color? Paint horses come in a multitude of patterns and colors and you never know just what you are going to get. I have never raised paint horses but I can imagine the anticipation of the birth of a new foal is extra exciting when you are hoping for a particular color or pattern. Conformation is always an important factor but with the paint you get the added bonus of some surprising markings. This fellow did not dissappoint. He’s a looker.
