Chasing The Moon

I am working on a series of contemporary brightly colored watercolors. “Chasing The Moon” is the first. I have always painted in a more controlled style and have been trying to loosen up a little. So I will lay down the color with no particular idea in mind and let the color and shapes dictate the finished image. I have to admit it’s fun.

There is so

Horses Can Dance

There is something magical in the combined talent of an athletic horse and a rider who is aware of that talent. The riders must be equally as gifted. Teamwork is what makes it work. The result is a flawless performance that is perceived by the spectator as if the horse and rider are one. The riders cues go unnoticed because they are subtle and flawlessly timed. The horse is able to respond to directions because they are given at the precise moment required for the horse to move to the next position fluidly. It is a beautiful thing to witness. The inspiration for this painting is a horse and rider team that I have enjoyed watching perform time and time again. Their performances are indeed a dance.
