Bobcat

This is a city cat, one of the many bobcats that have adapted to life in the middle of the DFW Metroplex. One of my favorite places to spend my time wandering with my camera isĀ  the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano, Texas.

I have spent a lot of time wandering around this preserve and not being one to stay on the trails I know where to go to find the animals or birds I would like to find.

The bobcat had sucsessfully aluded me until this trip. Iwas heading home and could have walked right past him but for some reason I looked to the left and there he was. Then to make things more fun he really didn’t seem to care that I was slowly walking closer. Intent on finding something on his lunch menu I was ignored. He blends into the tall grass and it would have been easy to miss him.

Like so many of the disiplaced wildlife due to urban sprawl he has made the best of situation. This preserve has everything he could want or need. Lot’s of food minimal preditors and I would guess very few territoial issues.

I hope to see him again soon.
