Chasing The Moon

I am working on a series of contemporary brightly colored watercolors. “Chasing The Moon” is the first. I have always painted in a more controlled style and have been trying to loosen up a little. So I will lay down the color with no particular idea in mind and let the color and shapes dictate the finished image. I have to admit it’s fun.

The Wolf

All the time I spent in the high country of Southern Alberta I never got to actually see a wolf. Oh they were there and when we were following wild horses they would follow us. Tracks everywhere but no I never got to see one up close. I find them facinating and of course beautiful.

Today the local ranchers have all kinds of problems with them. They have become rather opportunistic and the domestic livestock is far easier prey. The balance between conservation and preservation is a delicate balance.

Now that I find myself in Texas my only option is to paint them.
