Calving Time
Calving time comes once a year. Signaling a new beginning. Long nights with little sleep, concern for the mamas and their newborns is the order of the season. Calves in the kitchen by the fire box, bottle feeding, looking after that cranky mamma cow who needs medical attention, worrying about the weather, who’s going to take the next shift? Yep it’s a 24 hour, 7 days a week marathon. But it does end and the result is what keeps you going just to do it all over next year.
